Luke Smith
Luke Smith is the principal osteopath and founder of Governing Function Pain and Rehabilitation Clinic, based in Cardiff city centre. He is passionate about helping people overcome chronic pain, sports injuries, and complex movement problems through an advanced, evidence-based approach to osteopathy.
Luke holds a Master’s degree in Osteopathy and has completed extensive postgraduate training in Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR) a cutting-edge neurological technique used to identify and correct dysfunctional reflex patterns that often underlie persistent pain. By combining osteopathic diagnosis, neurological assessment, and targeted rehabilitation, Luke helps patients find long-term solutions when traditional treatments have failed.
With experience working with both everyday patients and athletes, Luke’s approach focuses on treating the root cause of pain, not just the symptoms. His sessions integrate manual therapy, movement rehabilitation, and neuromuscular re-education to restore efficient function and lasting relief.
At Governing Function, Luke believes that every patient deserves clear answers, measurable progress, and a tailored plan to get them back doing what they love whether that’s competing, training, or living pain-free.
